Last day of November!!!! Bring on Christmas fun. The students have organized themselves into commitees to plan decorations, music, games, and food for an end of the year party on the 21st in the morning.
Green highlights are items to bring to school.... The decoration committee has asked parents for extra decorations or an old christmas tree if anyone has one to lend us and they will organize the students for decorating next week. They are also looking for Christmas Music to play. The class is learning about measurement and will be designing and building cardboard gingerbread houses in the following weeks. They will need cardboard and any extra crafts that they would like to use to embelish their project (extra hot glue, tape etc is always appreciated but not necessary) The students have volunteered to help Mrs Mead and Ms. Parlee's class with real mini gingerbread houses as a buddy activity and have been asked to bring a 250 ml milk carton (empty) and any little candies they would like to use (we will provide the rest) Next field trip is a Buddy field trip where our class will join Mrs Mead's at the IMAX for a morning in our pajamas watching the Polar Express. PLease look for the field trip form to sign and return. Students are still raising money for Tanzania. They are asked to bring a toonie inorder to support children's education. Thank you for your support and sorry for the long list this week. Enjoy your weekend. Tasha Gibbs

Everyone is doing a great job! The due date of this project is DECEMBER 10TH. All students will present that day. Every Monday and Tuesday until then I will give the class about an hour to work on their project. I encourage you to ask your child to show you the criteria (as it lays out exactly what they need to do) and ask them what parts they have done/haven't done. There are 3 parts to this project. A map, a written portion (which I am encouraging to be either in the form of google slides or a poster board), and a visual portion (either a birds-eye-view drawn picture or a 3D diorama). I have told the students that the written portion should take the most timer, and should be completed before they work on their visual portion. Although this is an at school project as we get closer to December 10th I anticipate some students needing to work on their project at home in order to get it done on time. The project must be completed by December 10th and presented on that day as I need to have everything marked and back to your children before Winter Break! Also, if your child is working on their project at home (which is great!) please remind them to bring some part of their project to school each Monday and Tuesday so that they are able to work on it during class time.

I wanted to clarify a couple things about the social studies fur trading post project that I assigned this past Tuesday. The students will be given time every Monday and Tuesday to work on this project in class. It is meant to be predominately an in-class assignment so that I am there to help and answer questions. Students may work on it at home, but it is not necessary (especially right now as we have just started the project). The project will be due most likely the second week of December (depending on how everyone is doing), but I will give an exact date in a couple weeks. If you have any questions about the project please feel free to send me an email! Karlee :) assembly at 1030 today. You are welcome to attend.
